Christian sentenced to death for blasphemy

LAHORE, Pakistan – A Pakistani Christian has been sentenced to death for blasphemy by the sessions court in Lahore.
According to sources in Pakistan, following the sentencing Wednesday, a large mob led by Islamic clerics responded by shouting slogans against Younis Masih and threatening anyone involved in providing security or legal assistance to "blasphemers."

Louvre’s jars never held the organs of Rameses II

A century ago the Louvre proudly received an important addition to its notable Egyptian collection: the canopic jars of Rameses II. Such jars were used to hold the viscera of the embalmed mummy, and these bore the name cartouche of one of the most famous pharaohs, reputed to be the opponent of Moses in the Book of Exodus.
